Originality and attribution
IRJGES regards plagiarism, misappropriation of ideas and unattributed reuse of another person's work as serious breaches of publication ethics. Authors must clearly distinguish their own contributions from material derived from other sources and provide appropriate citations.
Examples of unacceptable practice
- Copying text, figures, tables, data or ideas without appropriate acknowledgement.
- Presenting another person's work or substantially similar material as original.
- Paraphrasing source material without citation when attribution is required.
- Submitting substantially overlapping work to more than one publication without disclosure.
Editorial action
Manuscripts may be screened for text similarity or other indicators of inappropriate overlap. Where a concern is identified, the editorial office may request an explanation, require corrections, reject the manuscript or take post-publication action in accordance with the journal's policies.
Questions about originality or appropriate citation may be directed to info@irjges.com.
